Nursing Degrees Offered: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, RN to BSN

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is located in the mountains of southwestern Virginia. The only branch campus of the University of Virginia, the University of Virginia’s College of Wise was founded in 1954 and offers 29 majors, 29 minors, seven pre-professional programs, and 23 teaching licensures. Outside the classroom, students choose from more than 50 student organizations including fraternities and sororities. The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is home to 1,900 students and 140 faculty members.

Nursing Education at University of Virginia’s College at Wise

The Department of Nursing at the University of Virginia’s College of Wise offers a BSN program. Students in the Traditional Program must enroll in the nursing major full-time. The RN to BSN program is designed for registered nurses with a diploma or an associate degree in nursing. Students may enroll part- or full-time in this program. The nursing programs at the University of Virginia’s College of Wise prepare graduates with a liberal education, expanded knowledge about nursing and health care, competence in nursing practice, and preparation for graduate study.
