Truman State University is located on a 140-acre campus in Kirksville, Missouri. With an undergraduate enrollment of 5,600 students and a graduate enrollment of 250 students, representing 40 countries, Truman State University offers a range of degrees and pre-professional programs through the Liberal Studies Program, the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Health Sciences and Education, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Outside the classroom, students at Truman State University are involved in more than 240 organizations, including sororities and fraternities.
Nursing Education at Truman State University
The Nursing Program at Truman State University traces its roots to 1960. Today, a four-year BSN and an RN Completion program are available. These programs prepare students to work as nurses in a variety of health care settings, including hospitals, homes, and community health centers. Students have the opportunity to study abroad in the Phillipines as part of the Transcultural Nursing Experience where they spend three weeks participating in obstetrical and nursery clinicals in the government hospital. Truman State University is also home to the Nursing Center for the Caring Arts where students practice nursing skills before beginning hands-on clinical work.
