Old Dominion University is located on a 188-acre campus in Norfolk, Virginia. Founded in 1930 as a division of the College of William and Mary, the University serves more than 23,000 students, including 1,400 international students representing 106 countries. Through its six colleges, Old Dominion University offers 70 bachelor’s degrees, 60 master’s degrees, and 36 doctoral degrees. In addition to on campus degree programs, more than 50 distance learning programs are available. Outside the classroom, Old Dominion students are involved in 200 student organizations, and 16 intercollegiate sports.
Nursing Education at Old Dominion University
The School of Nursing at Old Dominion University offers two BSN programs: the pre-licensure BSN and the post-licensure BSN designed for RN’s. The BSN program prepares nurses to work in a variety of settings including acute care, ambulatory care, rehabilitation, home care, and community health agencies. MSN programs are available in several concentrations: Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator, Nurse Midwifery, and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Undergraduate and graduate distance learning programs are also available.
