Minnesota State University Moorhead, located in Moorhead, Minnesota, began in 1888 as the Moorhead Normal School. With 7,684 students representing 35 states and 43 countries, the University offers part-time and full-time programs in 165 undergraduate and graduate areas of study. Sixteen pre-professional programs, 13 graduate programs, and 32 licensure preparation programs are offered through the colleges of Arts and Humanities, Business and Industry, Education and Human Services, and Social and Natural Sciences. Distance learning programs are available, with programs delivered completely online and in a hybrid format.

Nursing Education at Minnesota State University Moorhead

The Nursing Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead was founded in 1976 and offers BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, and DNP programs. The RN to BSN’s required courses are offered completely online, with additional courses delivered in a variety of formats. Traditional BSN students can complete their degree program in 8 consecutive semesters, or 3 calendar years. MSN students can choose from Nurse Educator or Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist concentrations. The DNP program, designed for students with a master’s degree in nursing, is a collaborative program involving four universities.
