Linfield College, located in McMinnville, Oregon, was established in 1858. In addition to the 193-acre main campus, Linfield College has a campus in Portland that specializes in Nursing and Health Sciences. The Division of Continuing Education offers adult degree courses online and at eight additional locations. Linfield College is home to the Linfield Research Institute which offers undergraduates the opportunity to work on research with faculty. Students can take advantage of a range of volunteer activities, field-bases activities, and collaborative learning experiences. Campus facilities include the James F. Miller Fine Arts center, the Marshall Theater, and the Nicholson Library. With a student enrollment of 1,700, Linfield College is affiliated with the American Baptist Church.


Nursing Education at Linfield College

The Nursing Program at Linfield College, known as the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing, is located on the Portland campus. The BSN and RN to BSN programs are designed for transfer students who have completed prerequisites at a 4-year college or a community college. With a community-focused curriculum, students balance nursing courses with clinical practice. The School has contracts with over 100 health care agencies in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington where students gain clinical experience. Many of these sites are community-based and include: ambulatory care clinics, home health agencies, public health departments, day treatment centers, correctional facilities, senior centers, and migrant health clinics, among others.
