Lamar University, located in Beaumont, Texas, is home to more than 13,000 students. A member of the Texas State University system, the University sits on a 270-acre campus and offers 63 undergraduate, 47 master’s, and nine doctoral programs. Programs are delivered through five academic colleges: Arts and Sciences; Business; Education and Human Development; Engineering; and Fine Arts and Communication in addition to the College of Graduate Studies and the Center for General Studies. Online courses are available for almost every department. Lamar University students participate in more than a dozen intercollegiate sports, and a wide variety of clubs and organizations.

Nursing Education at Lamar University

The JoAnn Gay Dishman Department of Nursing at Lamar University offers nursing programs through the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs in nursing. The BSN program is a four year program comprised of liberal arts courses, nursing education, and clinical experiences. MSN programs are available in Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, and a dual degree MSN/MBA program.
