Georgia Southwestern State University was founded in 1906 and is located in Americus, Georgia.The rural 250-acre campus is 135 miles south of Atlanta. With an enrollment of 2,400 undergraduate and graduate students, Georgia Southwestern State University offers degree programs through its five schools and divisions: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Computer and Information Sciences, the School of Education, and the School of Nursing. In addition to the degree programs, several international programs are available including the Center for Asian Studies, the English Language Institute, and the Habitat for Humanity International Study Option.

Nursing Education at Georgia Southwestern State University

The School of Nursing at Georgia Southern University offers a BSN program in three tracks: the generic BSN track, the accelerated BSN track, and an RN to BSN option. The RN to BSN track is delivered to students through an online program to provide flexibility to working students. A Clinical Nurse Leader Program is also available, in collaboration with the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing. Nursing students at Georgia Southern University have access to a wide variety of clinical experiences that include community, clinical, hospital, and school settings.
