East Carolina University, founded in 1907, has an enrollment of over 24,000 students. Originally established as a teachers college, East Carolina University currently offers 104 bachelor’s programs, 74 master’s degrees, and 17 doctoral programs through its various schools and colleges. The University is made up of the 503-acre main campus in Greenville, North Carolina, the Health Sciences Campus occupying an additional 206 acres, the West Research Campus, and the Pitt County Memorial Hospital which serves as a teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine. In addition to being involved in a variety of clubs and organizations, East Carolina University students contribute more than 100,000 hours of volunteer service every year.


Nursing Education at East Carolina University

Founded in 1959, the East Carolina University College of Nursing offers a campus-based BSN degree, an online RN to MSN and an online RN to MSN degree, and MSN degrees in eight different concentrations: Adult Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nursing Leadership, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery, Nursing Education, and Nurse Anesthesia. Nursing students at East Carolina University can become involved in organizations such as the American Assembly for Men in Nursing, the Black Student Nurse Association, the East Carolina Association of Nursing Students, the Holistic Student Health Network, and the Nurses Christian Fellowship.
