Bluefield State College, located in Bluefield, West Virginia, offers associate’s and bachelor’s degrees through its four academic schools: Arts & Sciences, Engineering Technology & Computer Science, Business, Nursing & Allied Health, and Education. Founded in 1895 as a teacher’s college, Bluefield has been graduating an average of 350 students a year since 2002. In addition to on-campus programs, the College also offers a variety of distance learning and off-campus courses.

Nursing Education at Bluefield State College

The School of Nursing and Allied Health at Bluefield State College offers an ASN, an accelerated LPN to RN, an RN to BSN, and a School Nurse program. The ASN is offered in two locations: on the Bluefield campus and at the Beckley Center located in Harper Industrial Park. The BSN program is designed for working RN’s and classes are held one day a week. The School Nurse program is designed for BSN students with a valid RN license, and includes two courses: Foundations and Principles of School Health Nursing, and the School Health Nursing Practicum.
