Baker University, with seven campuses in Kansas and Missouri, offers more than 40 different areas of study and awards associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. With a current student body of 4,000, Baker has been educating students since 1858 and was the first university in Kansas. Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies, which offers degree programs for working adults, was founded in 1988. Campuses are located in: Overland Park, Kansas; Topeka, Kansas; Wichita, Kansas; Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Kansas City, Missouri.

Nursing Education at Baker University

Baker University’s School of Nursing is located in Topeka, Kansas at Stormont-Vail HealthCare. Students take pre-nursing requirements at Baker’s Baldwin City campus, and then enter the two-year nursing program in Topeka. Baker also offers an RN to BSN program. Nursing students at Baker gain hands-on clinical skills at Stormont-Vail HealthCare and other facilities in the surrounding communities, and with simulation experiences designed to allow students to practice emergency care techniques. Nursing students at Baker are members of the National Student Nurses Association and the Kansas Association of Nursing Students.
