Demand for nurses is growing in New Hampshire, where 13,850 RNs typically earn about $63,340 annually, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are also incentives and fast-track programs for LPNs to become RNs in this state. The state is great for nature lovers who can enjoy the scenic White Mountain area.
There are several colleges that offer LPN to RN (ADN and BSN) programs in New Hampshire. They include:
Lakes Region Community College in Laconia in Belknap County offers a two-year Associate Degree in science that leads to RN licensure. LPNs are accepted when space is available and can receive an associate degree in one year. The program is highly competitive and has a student to faculty ratio of 8:1.
NHTI, Concord's Community College is located in the state capital in south central New Hampshire and offers an LPN-RN Advancement Option that can be completed in two semesters. The program of classroom and clinical instruction can be set up on a fulltime or part-time schedule and may include evenings and weekends. While flexible, students must complete the associate degree program leading to RN licensure within four years of entry.
Manchester Community College offers LPNs advanced placement in an associate degree program leading to RN licensure. The accelerated LPN-RN pathway features flexible classroom courses and clinical experiences, including evenings and weekends. The one-year program enables LPNs to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to practice as RNs. LPNs considering applying for the advanced placement program must attend an information session with a nursing school counselor.
